Lieutenant General Odawa: If There Is a Gunshot, We Are on the Front Line

Mogadishu-(LM) Lieutenant General Odawa Yusuf Rage, the Chief of the Somali National Army, affirmed his commitment to national security and the protection of citizens during a recent address to troops stationed in conflict-prone areas.
General Rage emphasized the readiness of the Somali National Army (SNA) to respond to any threats, stating, “If there is a gunshot, we are on the front line.” His remarks underscore the Army’s dedication to fighting against Khawarji and to maintaining peace and stability in the nation, particularly in regions affected by insurgent activities.
The General’s statement comes as part of ongoing efforts to bolster security operations and enhance the military’s capability to respond swiftly to emerging threats. He urged soldiers to remain vigilant and prepared, highlighting the importance of their role in defending the country against armed groups.
In his address to troops in the Middle region, Lieutenant General Rage also acknowledged the sacrifices made by soldiers and their families, reiterating the government’s commitment to providing necessary support and resources for their missions. He called for unity and resilience among the ranks, urging troops to work collaboratively in the fight against terrorism.
