Somali President Calls State Leaders for Consultations on Political Talks

Mogadishu (LM) The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has invited the leaders of Galmudug, SouthWest, and Hirshabelle states to Villa Somalia for crucial discussions regarding ongoing political talks. This meeting is aimed at addressing significant issues related to the fight against terrorism and determining the participants for the upcoming political stakeholders’ talks to be held in Mogadishu.

President Mohamud emphasized the importance of collaboration among federal and state leaders in the face of persistent security challenges posed by extremist groups. The discussions will focus on strategies to enhance the fight against terrorism and ensure a united front in protecting the Somali people.

Additionally, the leaders will deliberate on the criteria for inviting various political stakeholders to the upcoming talks, which are intended to foster dialogue and consensus among different factions in Somali politics. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to promoting stability and inclusivity in the political process.
