Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre Meets Arab League Delegation

Mogadishu (LM) The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hamsa Abdi Barre, welcomed the Head of the Arab League Delegation to Somalia, Ambassador Abdalla Al-Oteybi, in his office. The two leaders discussed avenues for strengthening relations and cooperation between Somalia and the Arab League, particularly in political and economic sectors.
During their meeting, Prime Minister Barre highlighted the significant achievements of his government and outlined the vast investment opportunities available in Somalia. He emphasized key sectors such as livestock, agriculture, fishing, energy, petroleum, and mining, urging Arab member countries to invest in these areas.
Ambassador Al-Oteybi also addressed the importance of promoting the Arabic language within Somalia. He noted that, as a Muslim country and a member of the Arab League, Somalia’s constitution recognizes Arabic as the nation’s second language. The discussion underscored the shared cultural and linguistic ties that bind Somalia to the broader Arab community.
