Somalia Evacuates 145 Citizens from Libya in Major Repatriation Effort

Mogadishu ( LM) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has successfully evacuated 145 Somali citizens from Libya, facilitating their safe return home. This repatriation effort comes as part of the government’s commitment to protecting its nationals abroad amid various challenges faced by the returnees.
Upon their arrival at Aden Abdulle International Airport, the returnees were greeted by H.E. Isaak Mohamud Mursal, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to assisting citizens who encounter hardships overseas.
In his remarks, Deputy Minister Mursal highlighted the ministry’s ongoing collaboration with international partners to ensure the safe repatriation of vulnerable Somali nationals. He stressed the government’s unwavering duty to protect and support its citizens, particularly those in conflict zones and crisis situations.
This repatriation marks a significant milestone in Somalia’s efforts to prioritize the welfare of its diaspora and enhance international cooperation in humanitarian and migration affairs.
