Somali Foreign Minister Discusses Enhanced Cooperation with Swedish State Secretary

Cario (LM) In a significant meeting held on the sidelines of the 2nd Ministerial Meeting of the Khartoum Process, Somali Foreign Minister H.E. Amb. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi Ahmed engaged with H.E. Anders Tore Hall, the Swedish State Secretary to the Minister for Migration. The meeting took place in Cairo on April 9, highlighting the importance of bilateral relations between Somalia and Sweden.
The two officials discussed strategies to strengthen cooperation in several critical areas, particularly focusing on migration management and strategic partnerships. “Addressing the challenges of irregular migration requires joint efforts,” Minister Fiqi stated. He emphasized the need for collaborative approaches that promote development, stability, and sustainable progress.
Minister Fiqi also expressed gratitude for Sweden’s ongoing hospitality toward the Somali community, noting the historical partnership between the two nations in development cooperation. “I am hopeful that we can further enhance these ties to benefit both Somalia and Sweden,” he remarked.
