Prime Minister Appoints National Committee to Combat Al-Shabaab and ISIS

Mogadishu (LM) The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre, has officially appointed the National Committee for Supporting the Fight against the extremist groups Al-Shabaab and ISIS.

This newly established committee will be led by the Second Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Abdisalan Abdi Ali, and aims to enhance coordinated efforts in the ongoing battle against terrorism in Somalia. The committee is tasked with developing strategies to strengthen national security and mobilize resources to combat these threats.

Prime Minister Barre emphasized the urgency of this initiative, noting the critical need for a united front in addressing the challenges posed by extremist groups. The formation of the committee reflects the government’s commitment to safeguarding the Somali people and restoring peace and stability in the region.

The appointment comes as Somalia continues to face significant security challenges, and the government seeks to bolster its efforts in the fight against terrorism through comprehensive and collaborative approaches.
