President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Embarks on Working Trip to Turkey

Mogadishu (LM) The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has departed for a working trip to Turkey, accompanied by a high-level delegation. This visit comes at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
During his trip, President Mohamud is set to engage in discussions with President Erdogan aimed at enhancing the already robust ties between Somalia and Turkey. Key topics on the agenda include military cooperation, security collaboration, and joint efforts to combat the Khawarij, a group posing a significant threat to peace and stability in Somalia.
“This visit is pivotal in our ongoing efforts to eradicate terrorism,” President Mohamud stated prior to his departure. “The Somali government remains steadfast in its commitment to defeat the Khawarij and foster an environment of stability and peace for our citizens.”
