Humanitarian and Health Emergency : Strengthening Coordination in Somalia

Mogadishu (LM) In a recent update, the Deputy Minister of Health of Somalia H.E Mohamed Hassan Mohamed stated ongoing efforts to enhance the coordination of emergency responses in support of the Somali National Army and the broader Somali community. A presentation done by the minister showcased various initiatives aimed at delivering effective health solutions amid ongoing challenges.

The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to all health workers who have been instrumental in the frontline battle against extremist groups. “We provided health kits to frontline aid workers, ensuring they have the necessary resources to support our troops and communities,” he stated.

Acknowledging the collaborative efforts of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) and other partners, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of uniting all health institutions involved in humanitarian activities. “This meeting is crucial as a strategic step to consolidate our efforts and ensure that every soldier receives the support they need during this conflict,” he added.

The Deputy Minister called for continued support from the international community and local stakeholders, urging everyone to unite for a healthier and more peaceful Somalia. The commitment to improving health services and emergency response capabilities remains a priority as the country navigates its complex challenges.
