Former PM of Somalia Mourns Major General Nur, calls for Justice

Mogadishu (LM) Former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheire has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Somali people, the Somali National Army, and the family of Major General Nur Mohamed Gaabow, Commander of the 14th October Brigade, following his tragic passing.
In his statement posted on his Facebook page, Kheire hailed Major General Gaabow as a hero who dedicated his life to safeguarding the lives, property, and honor of the Somali people. He noted that Gaabow devoted much of his time to efforts aimed at liberating the country from the Khawarij, a militant group known for its harassment of civilians.
Kheire called for an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding Major General Gaabow’s murder, urging that those responsible be held accountable for their actions. He emphasized the need for justice to honor the late general’s commitment to the nation.
The former Prime Minister also urged the Somali people to unite in the fight against the Khawarij group, stressing that collective efforts are essential to achieve the progress the country aspires to. “We must come together to eradicate this threat and ensure a safer future for our nation,” he stated.
Major General Nur Mohamed Gaabow’s legacy as a dedicated leader and protector of the Somali people will be remembered as the nation continues its struggle for peace and stability.
