AUSSOM and UK-MST Successfully Complete Joint Operations Training for Commanders

Mogadishu ( LM) In a significant step towards enhancing operational readiness, the African Union Standby Force (AUSSOM), in collaboration with the UK Mission Support Team (UK-MST), successfully concluded a four-day training program focused on the planning, coordination, and execution of joint operations.
The training, which took place over four intensive days, was facilitated by expert instructors from both AUSSOM Force Headquarters and UK-MST. It brought together 17 commanders from AUSSOM contingents representing Kenya, Nigeria, and Uganda, fostering a spirit of collaboration and shared knowledge among the participants.
During the closing ceremony, Major General Marius Ngendabanka, AUSSOM’s Deputy Force Commander for Operations and Plans, highlighted the critical role of joint operational planning in ensuring mission success. “Effective coordination among our forces is essential for achieving our objectives and maintaining peace and security in the region,” he stated.
The training covered various aspects of joint operations, including strategic planning, operational coordination, and execution techniques, equipping commanders with the necessary skills to lead their troops effectively in complex operational environments.
Participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to enhance their skills and build relationships with their counterparts from different nations. This training marks a pivotal moment in strengthening the capabilities of AUSSOM contingents and improving regional security through collaborative efforts.
As AUSSOM continues to develop its strategic partnerships, the successful completion of this training program underscores the commitment to fostering unity and effectiveness among African forces in peacekeeping and security operations.
