Galkacyo Hosts Critical Country Humanitarian Forum

Galkacyo (LM) Mohamed Abdullahi, Director General of the Galmudug Ministry of Relief, underscored the significance of the ongoing Country Humanitarian Forum (CHF) in Galkacyo. He remarked that the forum arrives at a crucial time for the region, stating, “We hope that important points for our country will emerge from it.”
Organized by the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), the CHF aims to address urgent humanitarian issues impacting Somalia, including food security, health services, and support for displaced populations. Abdullahi expressed optimism that discussions during the forum would lead to actionable solutions and increased support for vulnerable communities. This year’s theme, “Strengthening Humanitarian Resilience: Addressing Droughts, Displacement, and Emergency Response in Somalia,” reflects the pressing challenges at hand.
As stakeholders from various sectors convene to share insights and resources, the Ministry of Relief remains committed to prioritizing the needs of the people in the outcomes of the conference. Abdullahi’s comments highlight a broader hope for collaboration and assistance that could significantly improve the humanitarian situation in Galmudug State. The forum serves as a vital platform for addressing the country’s urgent challenges and fostering a unified response to humanitarian needs.
