Aborey (LM) Fierce fighting between Somali government forces, supported by Local Liberation Forces known as “Macawisley”, and Khawarij has entered its second week in the strategic town of Aborey, located in the eastern Hiran region. This escalation comes amid a series of airstrikes targeting Terrorist positions.
Despite ongoing assaults by the Somali Military Army and Liberation Forces, efforts to reclaim the town have faced significant resistance, with heavy casualties reported on both sides. The military has not yet released official figures on the toll of the conflict.
Since early March, the Khawarij Militias have experienced significant territorial losses, losing control of dozens of towns and villages across Hiran, Lower Shabelle, and Middle Shabelle regions.
